Cargo Barge berthing alongside to Positioning Barge

Cargo barge was safely berth A/s the positioning barge using the parallel berthing methods., Two Pusher tugs were used for assisting the berthing in coordination with the Main Towing Tugs., this operation was critical and hence very precise handling and coordination was required from command centre setup on the Bridge of Main Towing Tug & Positioning Barge to avoid any load coming on the anchors and wires of the positioning Barge.

Cargo Barge sailing and Arrival to Site

Barge sailed from Tuticorin and arrived Vizhingam after 1.5 days of voyage at sea, the barge was berth alongside the positioning barge and sidewall doors were opened and discharging commenced at the precise location for breakwater dumping as advised by clients.

Cargo Barge Loading at Tuticorin

Flat top barge of 90 Mirs x 25 Mtrs, with 3 Mirs side walls was used for cargo movement, this barge was of 8000 T capacity but dueto draft limitations at Tuticorin cargo was restricted to 6000 Mts., this barge was loaded using 40 Mt Trucks carrying core rock size 50 kgs to 300 Kgs The sidewalls were suitably Modified to have 3 Opening 7 on the side of intended discharge to 3% sea the barge was loaded in approx. 4 days and ready to sail.

Details of Project Positioning Barge

A Flat top barge of 70 Mtrs x 20 Mtrs was used for purpose of converting to positioning Barge for this operations Winches, Anchors, accommodation, 4 Point moorings were installed in Tuticorin a per the schematic layout as defined in the mooring Analysisthe gears were suitably tested and the barge was mobilised to the location using one of the companies towing tugOnce on site the DGPS systems were installed and referencing points fixed for the barge., 4 point moorings was done to get the barge in the defined position of the clients ( Adani )Suitable fenders were installed and barge kept standby in position to receive cargo Barge alongside.
